Vicente Feliu, Leading Voice of the Cuban Nueva Trova Movement
Vicente Feliú is a singer songwriter who has performed in more than 20 countries in the Americas, Europe and Africa. He has shared the stage with numerous other Cuban musicians from the same movement including Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés. He has also performed with Luis Eduardo Aute and Caco Senante (Spain), Isabel Parra and Inti Illimani (Chile), León Gieco and Mercedes Sosa (Argentina), Jackson Browne, Pete Seeger, Holly Near and Little Steven (United States), Daniel Viglietti and Alfredo Zitarrosa (Uruguay), and Luis Enrique and Carlos Mejía Godoy (Nicaragua).
Alejandro Valdés, a masterful guitarist and composer from Havana,Cuba and the prize-winner of a Latin Grammy Award, has conquered the art of fusing a broad range of genres. A true virtuoso on his instrument, Alejandro has shared the stage with leading musical figures such as Compay Segundo from the Buena Vista Social Club.
Rafael Manríquez has been one of the leading exponents of Latin American music in the San Francisco Bay Area for over twenty years. Originally from Santiago, Chile, Rafael brings us the gift of both his exquisite voice and remarkable skill on Latin American string instruments, ranging from the guitar to the charango to the cuatro and tiple. His lyrics reflect the struggles and hopes of the people of this continent. He has performed throughout theAmericas and Europe.
